We have recently completed installation of this new woodland roadway laid through forests managed by Foramaflow. After careful routing around high value tree stock and removal of poor quality vegetation the woodland has been restored, with careful grading of existing topography ensuring that no excavations were made below existing levels in order to protect the retained RPA’s (Root Protection areas). Certified seed mixes were sown into the lightly tilled forest floor prior to laying the Geotextile matting. The matting is a high density porous mat manufactured from recycled plastics making the entire project a sustainable process with a low carbon footprint.
All cuttings were chipped and returned to the forest floor which will rot down naturally. Small habitats have been created for wildlife throughout the areas using salvaged deadwood and windfall ensuring ecological sustainability.
